Who we are
Personal Navigator UK (formerly PIP Navigator), at personalnavigator.co.uk, is a peer-support resource for PIP claimants in England and Wales. It is operated by a sole trader registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO registration: ZC117661).

What data we collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to deliver our service.
When you sign up for our free guide
- Email address — submitted by you through the sign-up form on our website, so we can email you the free guide and occasional related guidance. Your email is stored by our email provider, Mailjet.
- First name — only if you choose to provide it. It is optional and not required to receive the guide.
When you buy a paid product
- Email address and name — collected via Payhip (our payment and delivery platform) when you purchase a paid product.
- Payment details — processed and stored by Payhip, not by us. We do not see or store your card details.
When you sign up via a Meta (Facebook/Instagram) lead form
- Email address — submitted by you through the lead form.
When you visit our website
- Browsing data — if you accept cookies, the Meta Pixel (ID: 2080845689309125) collects anonymised data about your visit to help us understand how people find us and to measure ad performance. No browsing data is collected if you decline cookies.
- Session cookies — used to remember your cookie consent preference. These do not track you across sites.
Why we collect it (legal basis)
- Email address (free guide sign-up) — consent. You tick a box to ask us to email you the guide and occasional related guidance, and you can withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time.
- Email address (paid product) — contract performance, to deliver the product you purchased, with related follow-up sent on the basis of legitimate interest. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Browsing/Pixel data — consent (you choose whether to accept cookies).
- Payment data — contract performance (to fulfil your purchase, handled by Payhip).
Health and disability information
Because this service relates to disability benefits, the fact that you are on our mailing list, or that you bought a PIP-related guide, may itself suggest health or disability-related circumstances. We treat this with extra care: we do not ask for, or store, details of your health or condition; we keep only your email address, optional first name, and purchase records; and we never use this information for any purpose other than sending you the guidance you signed up for. Where our processing of this information amounts to special category data under UK GDPR, we rely on your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or emailing hello@pipnavigator.co.uk.
Who we share data with
We use the following processors to run our service:
- Mailjet (email delivery) — stores your email address, and any first name you provide, to send you the guide and follow-up emails. Based in France/EU. Mailjet privacy policy.
- Payhip (payments and digital delivery) — processes purchases and delivers PDF downloads. Payhip privacy policy.
- Gumroad, Inc. (payments and digital delivery) — processed purchases and delivered PDF downloads for products previously sold through Gumroad, and retains those purchase records. Based in the US. Gumroad privacy policy.
- Meta (advertising and analytics) — receives anonymised browsing data via the Pixel if you accept cookies. Based in the US. Meta privacy policy.
- Netlify (website hosting) — serves our website. May process server logs containing IP addresses. Based in the US. Netlify privacy policy.
We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not share your data with any party not listed above, except as described under "If our business changes hands" below.
If our business changes hands
If Personal Navigator UK (or part of it) is sold, merged, transferred or reorganised as a going concern, your personal data may be disclosed to the prospective or actual buyer as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection safeguards. Any successor would only be able to use your data for the same purposes described in this policy and would be bound to honour your existing choices, including unsubscribes and objections. If such a transfer takes place, we will notify you by email before your data is transferred, and you will be given a clear opportunity to object or unsubscribe before any transfer of your data occurs.
How long we keep it
- Email address — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Purchase records — retained by Payhip per their policies. We retain a record of your purchase for accounting purposes (up to 7 years per HMRC requirements).
- Browsing data — retained by Meta per their data retention policies. We do not store Pixel data ourselves.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — ask what data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@pipnavigator.co.uk. We will respond within one calendar month, as required by UK GDPR.
Unsubscribing from emails
Every email we send contains an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it to stop receiving emails immediately. You can also email hello@pipnavigator.co.uk and ask to be removed.
